The engagement is announced between Niall, son of Mr Norman Downie, of Wantage, Oxfordshire, and Ms Cynthia Downie, of Worthing, West Sussex, and Nicola, daughter of Mr Thomas Close-Smith and the late Mrs Thomas Close-Smith, of Fletching, East Sussex.
